WTB: LEDs - Got any LEDs from Hosts?!?!

Im looking to get a bunch of LEDs, perhaps ones removed from your laser hosts. I'm currenlty working on some projects and would love for some cheap LEDs as i test out this project.

Reason I ask for your LEDs from your Laser hosts is because they are probably sitting around.. no need for them and i dont want to spend crazy money on them if i screw something up.

If you have some "FREE" LEDs thats even better, i will cover costs of shipping and will really appreciate your assistance in my project!

So if you have any LEDs, please let me know what kind they are, their wattage and voltage, if you have that info.

Do you need them for illumination, or as indicators??

I have a whole pile of "old school" LEDs and a handful of white ones removed from Christmas lights.

Hey - Wal mart has packs in the Christmas liquidation stuff, act quick they are like 20 cents a pack.

You just have to pull off the plastic base (the little green bottom that plugs into the light string.)

Then go get some of the white Christmas lights, they are bright, unless your looking for CREE lamps.

I have a couple of Dorcy LEDs, I think they take 350mA at 3.2-3.4V, bright white (cool-ish). Interested?

Yes i am, those would prolly be good for one of my 2D maglite mods as opposed to a 3D, depending on the volts each one them maglites puts out, i'll have to test em.

I've found quite a few good LEDs on DealExtreme for just a few dollars, i am considering a bunch of them.

Once the price of shipping comes into play you will probably be better off getting LEDs off of DX, the ones from DX will probably more powerful than your typical 1W LED from a flashlight anyway. Those Q5s are amazing for their price, the bulk rate discounts are nice too. I still have yet to try out a P7...

Yea whats the wattage on a Q5?
The P7's are pricey but perfect for my project, i just dont want to spend the money on one yet, as i'm slightly new to modding the big mags.

Only reason i ask here, is i figured many people might have removed their LEDs from a host and dont need them and perhaps willing to give them away for free or for minor fee. Thats sort of my purpose for asking around here prior to purchasing from DX
