What I and many others here don't understand is how they come here year after year and do nothing but complain about the prices and everything else..Yet they keep coming back :thinking: I was in a restaurant and heard a snow bird from Quebec complain & complain about the quality of the food & price and then told the manager don't expect him to give the server a tip, he's not paying her wage for lousy food.
That Manager to my surprise came back over to the table and asked Why do you come here day after day and eat the food then? Before the snow bird could even answer the Manager tore the check up and told him to leave his restaurant and never come back. Everyone applauded the Manager, funny thing happened, the snow bird then begged to pay the bill anyway; I guess the food and service wasn't that bad after all.
This goes on all the time around here, they complain and bitch about everything. It just gets old after awhile, I don't know why but it seems that it is mostly from those from Quebec, yes I'm sure they are not all that way; but you really can tell the difference from someone from BC for example, they are very kind and considerate and they even know the word "please and thank you". Many shop keepers, and restaurants quiver when they hear that accent and the rudeness, it gives other Canadians a bad rap. There are a lot of College girls around here working for tips, and they all bitch about how rude & cheap the Canadians are. When you are a Guest in another Country you should be respectful to the locals.
If they honestly don't like it in FL, they can always go to Mexico; it's warm down there too, that is really the only reason most Canadians come to FL in the first place, to escape the harsh winters up north.
