Which time causes the least interference for you w/ system maintenance?

want to get some feedback around best times for me to do required system maintenance on the site [causing least impact for you all] . these are the regular maintenance which take around 15mins usually

i am in pacific time zone.


if another time works better please reply with it in the thread

I vote for a new ''brb screen'' every few weeks. Something funny or interesting to look at.
Maybe you could leave a positive or inspirational quote for the day.

As far as a time goes for maintenance. I say late evenings.

That's why I use Ctr+a and Ctr+c on every post before I click replay.

From the nightly lurking I do I see a lul in activity from 3-5AM EST. After 3AM EST there is very little posting. At 5AM EST is usually when the overseas members start logging in.

yah i highly recommended the Control-C periodically when posting regardless of the site (i get in the habit of always "ctrl-A ctrl-c") periodically regardless of the site i'm posting on=)

I dont have that issue. I keep hitting refresh when the BRB comes up, and when it finally logs back in my post is there. If you click Back it usually wipes the message clear.

What if we had a little system maintenance countdown timer up near the banners?
So when it needs doing Avery could give us a 5-10 minute warning?

not really feasible to have the countdown timer but ill try and be consistent updating a "maintenance" thread each time. when people notice a new post in that thread or receive an email notification since they subscribed to it, it would mean maintenance will likely happen shortly.
