Which Laser would be BRIGHTER!?!

I was just wondering out of interest which of these lasers would be brighter?

- 1W Blue Laser
or
- 300mW Green Laser

I am assuming the green would be much brighter right? The blue would be more powerful but less bright am I correct?

Green is far brighter to the eye, and theoretically "safer" when it comes to eye damage or injuries.
EDIT: for eye injuries, both cause instant eye damage so one isn't really safer than the other.

Getting injured by a 300mW laser is theoretically not as bad as getting burnt by a 1W. I shouldn't have used the term safer, it is rather ambiguous in this case as eye damage would be instant. :thinking:

I'm guessing you're talking about power alone and not regarding the brightness

For example 1W of IR will only seem as bright as a standard 5mW 650nm but it will do all kinds of bad to you

I assumed he meant the brightness of certain wavelengths to the eye. I think that's what he's talking about so I think you're right.

Green will have a nicer beam and dot.

But a 1W is around 100$, while a 300mW green is over 180$
