which kaleidoscopic/star pen do you recommend?

I'm looking at buying a kaleidoscope pen also. After looking around in the forums, I found that my best purchase (for my needs) is a "True 5mW" green with kaleidoscope cap from DealExtreme. Here's the link.

at first time i was planing to buy it too, but i think 1*AAA will not provide great autonomy.
also 5mW seems too weak for the kaleidoscope

Like a lot of other cheap "5mW" Chinese pointers, these are overpowered. The comparison shots with the "True 5mW DX" is almost identical, and we know from testing that those "True 5mW" can be in the 20-30mW range. I also recommend it since he didn't say where he was from, and for those of us in America, this is a very inexpensive solution to a common problem here.
This would just be a simple low-powered kaleidoscope pen. Would be great for indoors or outdoors when its dark. If you have a higher budget then you can look for something bigger and badder.

but what autonomy do you expect with a 30mW 1*AAA ? :yabbem:
