Is the pointer new?? Carried in a pocket with lint??
Try dusting the lens -- Use that gas in a can carefully.
Don't blow into it, you could end up with a tiny glob of spit in there

try a cue(q?)-tip. Thats what i use to clean my green's lens

Q-tip, since it's a brand name 
Much better than other "cotton swabs" those other brands like to pass off as imitation Q-tips.
I like using a Q-tip with some rubbing alcohol on it. Then canned air to blow away any bits of dust or cotton bits. Remember not to press too hard.
