Just a shame that you'd need a 100mW+ blu-ray and smoke to get the same effects :P Not a 5mW one, lol. Don't know why he says it's a visible beam. A 5mW won't have a visible beam.

Pretty expensive too.

that seller has a crazy website. I don't like how they just made everything just 1 big picture, I think eBay would have taken the listing down and that's why the made the auction just a big picture. so the eBay spider can't crawl it :) I'm also pretty sure they aren't allowed to link to their website in the eBay listing, you can only do that on your "About Me" page (I used to be big time into selling on eBay)

Interesting? Yeah I'd call a 200mW violet diode or a 500mW blue diode interesting for sure. But what would really grab or stop my heart would be the price for them. My guess would be stop my heart cause the price would more than likely be ungodly! LOL!

Anyone care to write them for a quote? :)

Did I mention that I really like the Japanese and their advanced development of technology? Great story tellers too cause anime rocks!

People have inquired from them before. Engineering samples and anything not in massive quantity are too expensive for the hobbyist consumer. Thousands of USD per diode.

Also, Nichia was the first company on earth to make a working gallium nitride violet/blue laser diode, as well as the world's first gallium nitride high power blue LED, and gallium nitride high power green LED. Any blue, green, or white LEDs you've ever used and all violet laser diodes currently in use today owe homage to Nichia (particularly Shuji Nakamura).

Because of the new technology it's amazing how much people mark up for easily available things.. You just gotta know where to find them...
