I previously bought a high power laser pointer last year from Ocean City. I lost it so now I am going to buy a new green laser pointer for christmas. I need advice on which one to get.

I want one just for fun and entertainment purposes (like pointing into sky so I can see the beam's line go on and on). I want one that shoots far (like 5 miles), can use batterys bought from store(like aaa batterys), is safe for eyes(wont cause permanent damage just from one shine into eye), and be able to be seen at night and day.

Anyone have any idea what laser pointer I should get!? Is there any laser you guys have that fits this description that you really like?

I would also like it to be kind of reliable and hopefully with a warranty. I hear anything above 150mw is dangerous to eyes? I'm looking at a laser pointer with 5mw... BTG-6 plus Green Laser Pointer from Z-Bolt&#174 - 4 Finishes, 5 Mile Range

Is this a good laser for me to get?
Or is there a better one I can get for same price?
Also is a 50mw laser pointer safe for the eyes if it reflects off of objects and hits your eyes?

Thankyou

P.S. I already researched some and these are all the questions I have left, so if you could please answer them and not tell me to look at FAQ, it'd be greatly appreciated

FDA says anything above 5mw is bad for your eyes. I won't use anything over 50mw without proper safety measures, but thats just me.

I would say check out these companies:
Dragon Lasers: dragonlasers.com
Laser Glow: laserglow.com
NOVAlasers: novalasers.com
Optotronics: optotronics.com
Z-Bolt: z-bolt.com

I have a z-bolt laser and I am happy with it.

Is the green laser pointer viper series 35mw any good? What can this thing do? Can it burn anything or pop balloons since its 35mw?

It wont pop ballons or anything crazy, but it will have a nice bean at night. It is a very nice laser.

Will this laser have a brighter beam then a 5mw laser? If so, will it be a noticeable difference?
Also, how far distance can it go? Because I see a 5mw laser that claims it has a range of 5 miles at night? Will 35mw one go further?

>30mW is capable of popping balloons. It depends on the balloon and the beam diameter, though.

Yes 35mw will be brighter than 5mw. It will touch the sky. The distance of travel is dependent on the atmospheric conditions.

Thankyou! What do you mean it will touch the sky? So a 35mw laser will go further then a 5mw laser? A lot further, or just a little further?

Thanks for the info! Also, is Premier Source of Green - Red Laser Pointers & Corporate Engraved Gifts Since 1999 a safe site to purchase a laser from?
That site looks like z bolt

It will look as it is touching the stars. Yes. But a lot comes down to beam performance. (divergence)

Wait, so what exactly does this mean?

That a 30mw laser will need to be focusable to pop ballons

Ok, so what exactly is divergence? Never heard of this so could you please explain brieflt to me? And now I found an optotronics >40mw laser... Optotronics Product Details
Does this laser look like the best choice out of the ones I've looked at so far?
I hear optotronics is a good company to buy from?
As long as it'll look like it is touching the stars and has a chance at popping balloons or lighting a match, then I think i'll like this one! What do you think?

How come a 35mw laser from dragonlaser.com cost $89.99, while a +40mw laser from optotronics.com only cost $72.00?

Research some

They are different lasers.

They are two different companies... both have good quality lasers. I'd go with optronics.
