Warning about DX shipping times

I just received 5 different shipments from DX made last month and each took roughly 3.5 weeks to arrive. I think my average ship speed from them is about 3 weeks so I can't say I see much of a slow down below normal. My worst exp with DX was an item from my order went on back stock and for some reason they didn't send the rest of my order. It sat there unsent for two months until I finally told them to cancel the entire order since I didn't need the stuff anymore anyway.

I wouldn't mind using a better site to buy things but the problem is I usually buy stuff that is either impossible to find in US based stores or its a fraction of the cost of buying it elsewhere. Their prices really are scary low and its hard to beat them often.

Does order size seem to have an effect on shipping times? I ordered 4 driver boards last saturday and I'm hoping they arrive within 4 weeks. Also, I noticed they have the super saver, standard, and EMS shipping. I chose standard for the extra $1.70 to get a tracking number, is that all you get is a tracking number or is it actually shipped faster?

I don't think there's any difference in standard vs tracked mail in terms of speed.

I agree with the speed thing. I don;t think adding tracking makes any speed difference. On the other hand splitting orders up can and will speed things up. For example, if you decide to order 4 of one thing and two other things to go with it. Try splitting the 4 same items together and the two other items together into two separate orders. The more you split orders up the less likely your order will be held up due to backorder. Instead of your whole lot of items being held up just the one or two items you grouped will be held up.
