Hi
I am new in this forum.
Can anyone can tell me if there is or if i can buy somewhere a narrow band 785nm laser (lower than 0.5nm width)

How much power do you need? What's your application? Good beam specs required? Some more detail would help us come up with an answer. :)

Filling out your profile with a location and such is also helpful, we can recommend sources that are suited to your location in that case.

Thank you Diachi,
I need a laser to build a Raman system for my students.
I need at least 400mW
I have just updated my informations

Waw!
Nice product, but sort of expensive for me , i have to build or to buy a driver, a TEC cooling.
but , i will think about this possibility
thank you, i am going to poste an other question on green lasers hihihi

Not sure you'll be able to find it any cheaper ... I'll see if I can locate anything. All of the others I've seen so far don't have prices listed and are "contact for quote", which usually means they are pricey.

"hihihi" - Are you a ham radio operator by any chance? :p

A 0.5nm bandwidth is not very narrow. The He-Ne lasers I have are less than 0.065nm wide. Why do you want to use 785nm? That would be an expensive wavelength.

Edit: there's a 785nm Ocean Optics Raman spectrometer on eBay, but the guy wants $17,000.00 for it. Good luck.

If it were me, I'd buy a bunch of CD burner laser diodes and bin them. The problem with that is they're rated closer to 100mW, not 400mW.

Thank you Diachi,
indeed, the 785nm lasers are really pricey :(
I think that I am going to try the 532nm Raman system, as that laser is not that expensive.

no, unfortunatly, I am not ham radio operator ;)

Dear paul1598419,

You are right 0.5nm is not that narrow, i was just speaking comparing to the 5 or even 10nm of the laser pointers we can get in the market.
I need a narrow band (as narrow as possible, but also as cheaop as possible ) for the Raman application, we need narrow to get better resolution.

But as you said, I am going to try the 532nm i may get lower prices.

Yes Cyparagon,
I need at least 400mW, 100mW is just not enough to get the raman signal.
Many thanks

No need to triple post... It is frowned upon on the
Forum.
You can easily add or modify one of your existing
Posts by using the [EDIT] button at the bottom
of any of your posts.

You can also combine Quotes using the [MULTIQUOTE]
button in the same area under your posts. :)
