Ummm. I think I should not have bought a Wicked Laser

Stupid me, I ordered an Arctic Laser from Wicked and it has yet to show up. Tried their "chat" with no response and every attempt to call ends in a voicemail box.

Was I dumb to buy their laser?:(

If you don't mind the wait the Arctic is a good starting point for a high powered laser. I did the same as you I ordered on 01/20/2011 and my order has finally "Shipped" it went out 02/19/2011 so it's been about 2 weeks who knows when I'll get it. But it is supposed to be pretty nice when/if you get it. So I'll just leave you with 2 words "Good Luck" to both of us really. :beer:
 
I recieved my arctic back in Novemeber and it only worked for 1 day and i sent it back to them 4 weeks ago and havent heard anything about it from them since. The reason it took me so long to send it back to them is because they wouldnt send me my RMA form and i finally recieved it about a month ago.
 
Well, after ordering the same laser on January 15, I just got it yesterday. I live near San Francisco. So far I've lit some matches but can't get a candle to light. The laser itself seems to be pretty well crafted, the tripod is cheap plastic crap painted to look like aluminum but it's flexy so you can wrap it around objects like a tree branch or something. The safety glasses are equivalent quality to $10. gas station sunglasses.

While I was waiting I tried to use the "live chat" on their website but it doesn't work. Someone might email you a week or two later asking you what you want to know and if you reply to that you will get a vague response a week or so after that.

But it eventually showed up..
 
I must have gotten real lucky on mine. I use it a lot and it works great and looks just as great! No complaints it just took a while to get which I expected!
 
I'm trying to cancel my order since I have been waiting for it for over 8 months. The first one they shipped got seized without any notice at customs and the second they "shipped" to me never showed up. Hopefully they will return my money fast.
 
Well I finally received mine yesterday and it is really nice but it just makes me want to build something better. :lasergun:
It took just under 7 weeks (48 days to be precise) not as bad as WL has been but I really do think the wait is mostly because of customs.

u only see the good things in person right :D

what about the customer support answering support tickets 2 weeks later? its all wickedlasers fault. if they cant deliver in atleast 2 weeks then they shouldnt take any more customers.

the whole company has the worst reputation in the laser-scene. i would rather buy from dx...

the arctic is supposed to be 1W but for most people its around 700mW.

quite some people got batteries from wl that exploded and could have caused their whole home to be burned if they wouldnt take care of it before.

overall rating from 1-100 : 2

worst choice of all, im sorry.
 
Nah your tottaly right viro, they are a terrible company, they will take ANYONES order, and not give a damn about you for months, then when they have threats from you or ten to twenty emails, they'll be like alright alright, we'll whip you up a piece of crap already and ship it out i guess.

I agree that they suck for customer contact, although the guy I finally got though to sounded like a genuinely nice dude. Now I'm no laser expert, and I haven't got any way to objectively measure the output of the Arctic that I got, but I definitely have an eye and a feel for quality and this unit is pretty nice. The machining is clean and tight and the laser is bright as f**k. It's not some cheap POS. I'd love to hear from those who know why my laser sucks so I can get a better one next time but as far as I can tell this one is pretty sweet. And no, I'm not some company spy or some shit, so don't even go there..

If your talking to me, you need to settle down little boy, there is a thread about forum etiquette,courtesy, and inappropriate language. So i suggest you clean up your post before somebody else does.

Sorry if I ruffled your feathers. I actually have no idea who you are or if I've ever read anything you have written other than the quoted. I was referring to other posts I've seen where anyone who says they don't think their arctic sucks is somehow a company plant or something. So take a deep, cool breath. Get some sun.

I think you need to catch some sun, maybe you can go over to WL and make some high quality products with the people who take your money any time of any day, and will have a junk product to you in about 4-6 months

For less than $100 you can make a twice as powerful laser that will out perform the arctic in every way, and last you ten times longer. That's why your laser sucks, you payed $300 for a pretty paper weight. Sorry if I ruffled your feathers
 
Well. I finally got a human on the phone today after many days of trying. Their response is that they are not up to my order number yet for shipping. I'll let you know if they ever ship it. They said it would ship next week.....we'll see about that.
