So im thinking of Pot modding my WL CORE..

It's a 5 mW, and i'd like to know if it would be worth pot modding. Would that make the laser more dangerous ( as in IR danger), and how much more powerful do you think it would be? Thanks guys

I usually get anywhere from 12-25 from a leadlight style aka core mod
as for ir i couldn't tell you unless it was re-tested after mod ,but they have a very good filter it seems !,.,.,

You could get an increase in power from the core, but it really isn't necessary. You could get a cheap DX laser with output instead. The laser has an IR filter, so I don't think it would make it any more dangerous.
 
ok cool thanks guys. right now i'm really not sure what to do, because i know i'll need safety goggles once i up the power.. so ill think about it. But thanks!

Oh, and it's also a really difficult to access the pot on the CORE, it requires complete disassembly and you may scratch the host when you disassemble it.

Ahh ok. I'm not very experienced with disassembling lasers so I dont think ill do it anytime soon.
 
Plus the CORE was found to have smaller crystals than the leadlight. I think SenKat(?) was able to get only 7-9mW from a pot mod before saturating the crystals.
 
I have modded about 8 of those types usually get around 12 mw but as high as 28 once
 
The core is a good pointer. Why would you want to ruin it? You can get two 50mW pens for the price of a core.
