So I picked up a mohgasm JAD C6 kit (1,35A)

I was wondering what diode I should use and what module/lens! Keep in mind I need this to be AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE. I'd like a focusable one.

1Watt 445nm

:/ What wavelength? What targeted output? Your cheapest bet is probably an M140 and you'd probably get around 1.4 - 1.5W at that current.. Depending on how good the diode is.

Definately an M140.. Have a look at DTR's shop... Your best and probably cheapest bet. His postage times are amazing!

Good luck with your build!

What do I need to buy? I basically have this: Host, Heatsink, 17mm mohgasm Driver (1,35A preinstalled with silicone leads).

445nm M140 Diode In Copper Module With Leads
& Three Element Glass Lens
$60

https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/445-m140-didoes

and on that page

Then all you'll need to do is put that into the heatsink with the set screw and then solder the red to the positive on your driver and the white to your negative.

How much did the kit cost? 25 bucks?
$85 for a 1W+ 445nm is a very good price. Most sell around for $100.

Good luck with the build!

Thanks! I need to start saving up for this diode, but I noticed that on his webpage, the 60$ *445nm M140 Diode In Copper Module With Leads & Three Element Glass Lens* doesn't specify the diodes output... What is it? :P

The output depends on the driver's current

Probably around ~1.25-1.3W using the 3-ellement lens but it also
depends on the diode's efficiency

Jim

hot damn that's a strong laser!!!! :O With a G-2 lens what would be the output? :P

Here is a chart using the m-140 diode and the g2 lens:
