Renting a 750mW Laser near Austin,Tx

Hey Guys,

I'm looking to shoot a video with a 750mW laser. It doesn't look like wicked laser ships to the US anymore so I was hoping someone had one or something similar I can rent. I can pay $500 for the weekend. Austin or San Antonio would be ideal but let me know if you are in Texas and can maybe help me out. I would be more than happy to invite you to set if everything works out.

If he's seeking a red the 635nms have very bad beams at long distances at that power.
Also depending on what your shooting at 750mw your gonna need to consider not just your eye safety but the camera as well. It can fry the CCD in the camera even if the reflection is low powered.

To be totally 'legal' both you and the owner of any projector over 5 mW must BOTH hold FDA variances.

IMHO if you cant be both legal and safe -- go for safety. It would not matter that the event would be private or invite only. (so YES- most DJs with lasers are not 'legal')

It would be a good idea to put your location in your profile and place a 'Intro' thread in the Welcome section. PMing you now with some leads- Both SA and Austin has memers as well as a VERY well established company in San Marcos.
I have started a 'subforum' social group (LSLF)- for Tx forum members-sending links now.
Also a group for low budget projector owners(ROG)-sending invites.

AixiZ Laser (.com in Pearland) does have some very small projectors- (better for home use-low power)
If I were you I would go with George in SA.

Hope the OP comes back-- his best bet would be Laserface as he is in SA and has the gear and experience-- ALSO there are quite a few members not all that far from Austin- so an invite to come weatch would also be a mini LEM - win win
