Here is my approx 200mW 660 nM that I bought from SenKat a few weeks ago. Sorry for the delay in posting... (It is the larger one on the bottom)

Here is a beamshot at night with standard exposure. The beam looks much brighter to the eye.

Here it is with the extended exposure on my Sony Cybershot

It has a focusable beam which I like, but haven't figured out where the optimal focus is.

I haven't been able to burn matches or pop balloons, but that's what my Aries 225 is for ;)

I'm considering getting a more powerful diode for it - anyone have any suggestions?

SenKat has the specs from his power meter - I don't know the exact mW, but it suits my need well. Just a quick note - SenKat is completely honest in my interactions and I would buy from him again no questions asked.

The conditions when the photo's were taken: high humidity, fog expected but not present, dark (as dark as it gets at my house anyway) and I was smoking (no smoke in the beam...)

That's a nice looking laser how long was your exposure?? I find reds a bit of a pig to photogragh but i'll post some in my beamshots post.

Sorry to hijack mate ;)

Exact exposure unknown - maybe 2-3 sec for the last 2 photo's. The first photo was standard digital camera exposure for the sony cybershot. I'm too lazy to research it. The beam appears (visually) about half way between the intensity of the two exposures.

I've got a 10mp Samsung D103 point & shoot and i'm lazy too, i just turn the flash off and leave the camera to do it all. But i will say i'm getting some good results with it. :)

The reds aren't as "show off" as the greenies but I've built two of them --- don't underestimate their power. Reds need focus. That's why I make marks like an old camera for 3', 6', 15' etc. It works. 200 mW will do all that stuff but needs focus because of the different source.

Steve - it lights matches and smacks balloons like nobodys' business....use some snap ring pliers to focus it, and you'll see ! I forget (sorry) what I had it focused at last....

I owuld not try to upgrade the diode - you would be hard pressed to find one of higher output, the is affordable anyways...I STILL haven't gotten good answers out from those dang ROHM folks about the 350mw diodes...

come on SenKat - lets see some photos!!!

I'd love to play around with some hi-spec diodes like mike got from Dr.Lava

They'll be up in a few days...gotta get my workbench cleared off first....I am re-inventing the pulsar for Windstrings :)

Steve --

Reds need focus. Take a piece of paper and make a Sharpie black dot on it. This will reduce reflection.
Find the point in front where the black dot smokes and you will know "The FORCE" !!!! or the focal point. Whatever......

Mike

what do you mean?? I'd be up for a "re-invention" if it is a custom job... Can't let windstrings have all the fun - crap, he has a Herc.

Good insight Mike - I'll try that tomorrow if the wife doesn't make me do something else. How about black construction paper or carbon paper??

That'll work, too ! Yeah, I bought a few diodes from Dr Lava....I am putting them in a WL's Pulsar's case for Windstrings....I HOPE it turns out okay !
