Question about a 1.4w laser

Im just wondering what would happen if i got hit in the eye with it while using my Eagle Pair® 190-540nm Standard Laser Safety Goggles.
No it didnt hit my eye but im wondering what i would have to do and what the effects of it could be.

I am using my goggles at all times.

Nothing if you wore your goggles well and the beam didn't go under or around the goggles and hit your eye directly

No, if there was any blurriness or dark spots or anything you would want to goto an eye specialist. Simple as that, it doesn't really matter if you are wearing safety goggles, if there is anything wrong with your vision get it checked out A.S.A.P.

You might still see a blinding light but its nothing to worry about.

No, i think u have to take it seriously,for everything is not so absolutely.that means even if the leftover of light through ur google is 1/1000,it is still 1.5mW, it is II harm lever,i think . so do ur best to avoid that,if u want to keep ur eyesight!

i hit my eye with no goggles on with a true 5mW and it didnt do a thing and it was a pretty bright green laser happend a month ago. my family has strong eyes i dont think 1.5mW would blind me, but anyway il still look out

You make no reference to the od rating of your goggles. If its a low rating it could probably cause some eye/vision damage. 1.4watts is pretty strong.

You can shine your laser though the goggles on the wall .. and you will see how much gets through. Good goggles will block everything. You won't see any dot on the wall.
Such test will usually damage the goggles though. So don't do it, unless you have spares, or you can use some part of goggles which is not needed in common usage (some goggles have large lens protruding to sides).
I did test my goggles like this and the plastic just got little warped. But that is part of the test too. If it burns trough in a blink, it's just not good goggles.
You must also setup the test in a safe way. Laser can reflect of the goggles, or the goggles may slip. Such things happens all the time. In ideal case you would wear another pair, have everything fixed, and then just check how the filtered dot on the wall looks. Or you can use camera for that.

I have the same goggles and they are rated OD 4+ in that spectral range. As others have said, the light getting through them would still be 1-2 mW (14,000 mW laser reduced by a factor of 10,000 by the goggles). I would personally treat the laser as if you were never wearing goggles despite the protection. You never know when a pair might fail on you.
