potentially dead pointer 2x 14500

i may have killed the laser by reversing the battery orientation. It was originally bought from someone here over 10 years ago. I am looking to just "upgrade" it now. what will i need if i have host and want to change out the driver, the diode (maybe still good?), and what else? would something easy for me to retrofit? I don't really know how laser pointers work, but am eager to learn.

ok, i opened it and the driver appears burnt, and while messing with it, one of the wire fell off the driver. i guess i need a 16.8mm step down driver to 200mw cyan (curtesy of gemini guiding me)

Do you know what diode is in it? And do you want to keep it the same?

its probably a sharp 480~488nm laser, i think 150mw up to 200mw is fine? I want to minimize effort, if i don't have to change it, i prefer not, as I have to figure out how to open or get that diode out and secure back whatever... but if its easier, such as i can buy something that i simply screw on my current body (same design?) then i am for that.

btw, i used a battery solder to solder the piece of nickel sheet on the driver to help make contact, it was poorly contacting before. Is there any risk of this type of soldering in the future? The "burned" part in the last pic looks bad, but its actually just surface level, more so on the sheet.
