Woah what is that? It looks cool!
Sorry, this laser Newby doesn't know what that is.

Thanks : D , it's the insides of a 1W 532nm ( green ) CNI DPSS laser .

From right to left its

output coupler , KTP , Nd:YVO4 , diode focusing lens , 808nm pump diode

Wow. Always wondered what 1W of green would look like at night. That's a lot of power and close to the peak visibility point.

I would have expected an expanding lens
and collimator like what is in an eBay pen.
Maybe the longer cavity improves the
divergence.

There is a external lens but that is mounted to the top half at the front of the case .

The output in that photo diverges a lot soon after the edge of the picture .

Oooh when/where/how did you pick up that beastie, twirly?

Won it on ebay on the off chance it "could" work and I picked it up yesterday , it passed gas intact as you can see in the picture :D and cathode measures ok so im gona try and get it going with the 171B Omni PSU I have on the way , just have to make a umbilical cable . Its rated for a max of 50mW @ 568nm and was made in 2003

I won a PERYB ArKr too but the tube is dead , something rather heavy must of hit the top , it pushed the anode end down and Brewster stem up and its cover and sheared the boar in half at the anode join , but the optics / igniter and that are all fine

Ahh, I was wondering where you got an ArKr OC from! Shame about the tube, but the electronics are still quite valuable, not to mention the mirrors.
