Possible dead 803T diode?

Hi all

I bought a PHR-803T laser diode in aixiz module from HighTechDealZ - High Tech DealZ and it arrived today, I connected it to a simplified DDL driver with just an LM317T and a 12 ohm resistor between ADJ and V-OUT pins. I then connected it to a 9V alkaline battery and nothing.

Have I done something wrong, I also tried using another 9V battery then a 9V DC power supply which outputs 500mA. Still nothing at all.

All the components are new, I have substituted resistors and the LM317T but still nothing, the connections are all good so I just don't know what is wrong.

Could I have a dud diode? What do you suggest.

Thanks

Did you use a capacitor to protect against spikes?

Did you use proper ESD procedures?

Did you double check all of your soldering joints?

Any pictures of your circuit?

Are you sure sure you used the right pins?
Remeber PHR diodes are not the same as LOC and reds.

My PHR I just received from hightechdealz doesn't work aswell, I am using a rkcstr micro drive set at 100mA.
