Texas voters approved two state constitutional amendments in statewide votes, NBC News projects, part of a slew of state ballot measures voters around the country considered on Tuesday.

The ballot measures amend Texas’ constitution to clarify that only U.S. citizens can vote in the state and to enshrine parental rights.

Good for you Texas.
 

Democratic Rep. Jared Golden announces retirement in Trump district.​

Rep. Jared Golden, a moderate Democrat who represents a Maine district that President Donald Trump won by 9 points in 2024, announced Wednesday that he will not seek re-election next year.

Golden’s exit creates an even better opportunity for House Republicans to pick up a red district currently held by a Democrat, in what will be a difficult battle for Democrats if they are to control the House of Representatives.
 

73 people arrested in latest Oklahoma immigration sting.​

OKLAHOMA CITY — More arrests were made in another targeted “Operation Guardian” effort. This follows the arrest of 120 undocumented immigrants in September in Western Oklahoma.
“Operation Guardian” was launched by Governor Stitt in partnership with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

This was a waste of a law as undocumented immigrants vote only in tiny numbers that couldn't sway any election. Wouldn't be the first time Texas passed a useless law.

Wow. A whole 73 people. Way to go Oklahoma and Dumbass Donald.
 
Also, in Virginia, Democrats picked up 13 seats in the House of Delegates. This pushed them from barely a majority to nearly a super majority. Sixty four out of one hundred seats. It was like this everywhere last night.

Jay Jones will be Virginia AG, his comments against Republicans, wanting to kill Republicans, were alarming.
Republican turnout was low, don't expect the same in the midterms. ;)

Yes, he did. And, yet he won by more than 5%. That should tell you something. If it doesn't, don't expect me to be disappointed next year.
