I'm thinking of ordering my first serious laser from o-like, the problem is I've seen very mixed reviews.

Some of these have said many products have arrived broken and some say that customer service is terrible. However, I have also read the complete opposite with many people speaking of great customer service and products.

Does anyone have any personal experience with o-like and can give me an honest opinion of the company?

Their quality fluctuates, sometimes its really good, sometimes not so much. If you have never had a laser before, don't get one over 5mW. Never buy a laser from eBay or Amazon. Try laserbtb, they have pretty decent products at their price range. Good luck

No problem  good luck, post a review once you get your laser

You can go the DIY route too, if you like electronics or are willing to learn.
DVD burners (lower speeds, higher speeds if you are really careful) are a good way to start...

Good luck! :)

I've thought about it but it seems intimidating. I guess I'll learn with experience though.

Thanks for the advice :)

O-like in my experience is a decent place to buy from. You won't find any super high quality lasers but for the price they are surely worth it.

Any of you that have ordered at O-like already, what's better? : sending a mail with your order or ordering off the website

I ordered the crown upgrade 400mw green from o-like last week and had an extremely good experience with them (both communication with the company, and the product). Some people have had bad experiences with o-like, and some have had very good experiences. I sent an email to Susie before ordering with a few questions, and she answered them that night (saw the email the next morning). Their ordering process is very sketchy (they send you a paypal invoice, after saying that their credit card gateway is down) but don't be deterred.

Be sure to post a review up of whatever you end up buying, and include info about your experience with the company!

Make sure you talk to Susie if you decide to buy from o-like. I bought a set of dichroic mirrors from them once, one was not coated properly, Susie sent me a replacement for free. Make sure you contact Susie, even if you don't have anything to say, just ask her about your laser or something so she knows it's an LPF member purchasing. She will get you a good product usually

I'm ordering through mail so it should be fine then ;) and Big, i will make a review of the 2 lasers i'm ordering and share my experience ;)
