Noob looking for advice.

I'm fairly new to the laser world and am joining the forum looking for advice about diode lasers.

I recently bought some 12Watt 942nm YAG pump lasers (they aren't here yet) and have a bunch of old dvd drive/burner diodes I've been playing with but wanted to get some more info, advice, and maybe some direction before I blind myself or burn the house down.

Welcome to the forum.

The search function is a great friend as there are plenty of treads with directions on what to do with regards to simple drivers and builds.

Linking to information on the type of pump lasers would be helpful if you want input on it.

(We get a lot of noobs providing little information and wanting to be spoon fed based on it. You won't want to be like that. The allergic reaction is unpleasant. )

Yeah, I've been to plenty of sites where spoon-feeding really killed meaningful discussion.

I didn't include any info here because I doubt it's the right place to ask questions anyways, just giving you a brief introduction to me and my situation.

I'll create a new thread somewhere that looks like a good spot to ask questions and post info there.
