It's so cool, first time I saw it i was thinking that the electrical current was to shock the person to make his hand move away, but I kept watching and they had an even cooler idea! :D :D :D

A modular home factory close to where I live has those saws to avoid lawsuits. They are pretty sweet.

LOL if the shock turned into being electrocuted then you wouldn't be able move it away (assuming it's a high voltage).

ALSO
yes, a shock would move your hand away, but wouldn't your hand being cut into also move your hand away? Perhaps both at once would make it move faster? lawlz.

and would you have to buy another blade stopper? im sure its not good for the blade or the motor.........

the blade and the stopper are scrap after it saved your finger, but i'd prefer buying a new blade for some 100 bucks, instead of loosing my finger...

if you'r wearing gloves it will cut the glove, and stop as soon as it hits your finger. except if you'r wearing conductive gloves... ;D

So, what's to stop this thing from tripping randomly? You're cutting away, when all of a sudden 'BAM' and you lost a blade.

What would be better is to setup a microphone for the user. When it hears a scream of pain, the blade switches off! Brilliant!

I think it might be a little late by then. ;D Plus it would have to hear over the saw...

As randomlugia said, it would be late (pain takes two seconds to start manifesting). Besides, the hum of the blade and cutting would saturate the mic and thus making it impossible to detect a human scream; moreover you'll get a saw that automatically hides itself when powered :P

Ah yes. I remember this from MANY years ago :D
Same here, These have been out for a while.

When your flesh touches the blade, an electrical charge sets off an explosive, similar to an Airbag, that jams up the saw blade. This whole system then needs replaced but you do get to keep your fingers.
