Diode : from that casio xj140 beamer.
Lens: glass with coating
heatsink : 30mm x 100mm alu.
driver : 1100ma
power: 4,5 v ( 3x 1,5v big viborator bat. made it taped and wired pack)
host/torch made by my self from an old lamp. puted carbon layer on it.

total costs: 80 euro's

it burns like hell. it realy does. even from 10 or 15 meter away. pics of the beam are 7m on a white door.

Hello and welcome to the LPF!
Kudos and rep for reading before posting, result: a great 1st post!

Nice DIY build.

It is very refreshing to see a new member who reads instead of just starting a thread "can you help me build a laser? What is a driver? How do I focus?... etc..." +1rep for you.

One tip though, next time re-size your images to 800X600.

aww, very nice welcome thnk you.

aye well it realy was blood & tears to get at the point im now. i think i waisted nearly 200$ ( by try diode's on 9v blocks etc or 3x 3,6v or to long solding, whyle parts started to melt.) whyle learning , trying, thinking, waiting even quit the hobby caus it made me realy sick at some point, but 2 months later i started up with this as result.

Its indeed the result of just search. ty

Well I guess you could've posed a few questions after all.... :D
We wouldn't have bitten your head off for it.
Brave man you are indeed!

Yes, very brave. Welcome to LPF! Looks like you already have read a few stickies. Keep up the good work!
