Hello everyone! so my sister is working in shanghai for the year and she got me a laser! she said she is bringing it back for me for new years And was wondering what would be the best way to bring it back? shes flying back 1/30 The laser says <200mW so it would probably not pass customs Any tips? stickers? box? Thanks!

Take off the sticker, take out batteries (Or pack the battery cap and laser in separate bags), I don't think the customs will notice.

send it with registered air mail from any post office in Shanghai
i think it is the best way to bring it back.:))

You think they would check mail less carefully than suitcases? i m not exactly sure how lasers work but do they come apart like flashlights? if they do would putting each in a different bag work?

I received it today! they claim its 200mW but i think maybe more like 100 The beams just barly visible in daytime

Just put it in the washbag (ie the bag with your toothpaste and toothbrush) in, inside a plastic bag....

would just look like elaborate lipstick or something

I suppose you'd have to explain why you would be carrying lipstick, but that's another issue...

You shouldn't be able to see any laser beam well in the daytime. It's at night when you can really tell.
