Searching through a well know online auction site I found a new version of the LaserBee I laser power meter called the LaserBee 1-X and goes up to 2.1 Watts. It isn't even listed on the J. Bauer Electronics site yet. It might be the ticket for somebody who doesn't want to wait and might want to add the optional data logging feature (which I have on my LB II and is a pretty cool feature).

I have a laserbee I with data logging. It's 'ok' But I don't really trust it anymore for accuracy. The last build I sold aryntha measured 30-50mW higher on his radiant alpha and kenometer pro LPM's than it did on my laserbee. And I trust those.. especially his kenometer pro with the ophir thermopile, a lot more than I do any of laserbee's stuff. Plus I don't care for the fact that the laserbee I is only limited to 1W by software.. The hardware is the same as the 1X

Two options right here:

Modded Laserbee 1
Jerry is hiding something

Maybe Jerry upgraded his Laserbee 1 to suit the new age of 445.

Nah he's not hiding anything. Limiting functionality by software isn't exactly an uncommon practice. Microsoft for instance, has been doing it for a long time.
