need lab style heat sink that accepts aixiz module

point being that at 1000mw you do not need a tec. i am making a scanner and passive cooling will be more than adequate.

Where does the aixiz module temperature settle down at those currents?

40F? Below room temperature? Did you mean Celcius? 40C is the normal operating temperature for those diodes anyway.

40F is very possible with a TEC, I don't see it with the TEC only pulling 1.6A though...

It could be that his heatsink is already sufficient, and he's not sure exactly what constitutes reasonable heat conditions.

Its a design choice really.
Most people opt to use TEC to keep the diode at or slightly below room temperature... but it could be used to cool a diode far below if you take precautions against condensation/frost and such.
