Hi everyone.

This is my first time posting here, but I have frequented these forums for over a year now. Finally made the plunge and bought my first laser.

I ordered from Lazerer, and as a sidebar, it was an excellent transaction. This is the laser I ordered. LZCS - 532nm 100mW Focusable Green Laser Pointer

It arrived about a week ago and it has been an absolute joy. The problem is though, I have noticed a cloud, of sorts around my dot. I assume that the lens is dirty, but the problem is I can't seem to take the focusing ring off to get at the lens. I tried cleaning it with the ring on, but the aperture is too small to fit my lenspen. Is there any way I can clean it?

Thanks in advance for any response.

The way I use, is take a toothpick and take a paper towel flip it so its 2 layers put it on the tip of the toothpick and put a very small amount of windex on the tip of it. Then rub it around and flip the paper towel around to a dry side and dry it. If the dust isn't gone do it again till its gone.

hope it helps

i would recommend using some q-tips cotton swabs. Just make sure to pull some cotton off the end so it will fit inside the hole in the front...

+1 on cotton swabs. Make sure to pick one that is very clean. If you need a solvent, try isopropyl (I've used 91% with good success, it's like $1 at the store).

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I have tried the methods you have suggested before, but didn't have much luck. I suppose they're certainly worth another try. Does anyone know if there is a way to get a clear shot at the lens?

I have the same laser and the same problem. I've looked all over but I haven't seen a good way to clean the lens through the tiny aperture hole. It is bugging the hell out of me.
