Hey, I've been lurking around here and never posting so I figured I'd post in the welcome boards to "officially" be here!

Name's Tommy/Tom/Thomas whichever is clever. I live just between Cincinnati and Dayton Ohio (the united states for people not local). I've been getting into lasers as of a couple of months ago. I now have three lasers so I figured I'd get a case for them! Nothing special though. Will have 4, if TheJoker301 (scifi lasers) gets off his arse and ships mine already!!! :p

Here's my box (criticize all you want. I was in the Corps so I can take it. got out in 07' so you vets don't have to ask. Engiqueer, 1345, HE Op)

Here is the link to the case: Amazon.com: Plano 10137 Gun Guard SE Single Scoped Pistol Case: Sports & Outdoors

I paid $7.83 for the case, it was the last one that cheap eligible for Prime. So I didn't pay for the 2 day shipping :D

That 51 LED UV light, I got for free. I do reviews for UltiKit on amazon and they just send me stuff. It's awesome. Testing them on the UVEX glasses too. The UV light doesn't even go through the glasses at all, literally NO light goes though. So now you really know they are UV safe.

Also, to show the UVEX Glasses Blocking UV. I took 4 pictures.

First picture is shining the UV light on the wall, 2nd is shining it on the wall with the camera "wearing" the UV glasses, 3rd is showing no UV passing through, and 4th is up close and personal (all you get is the lumens of the lights, no UV at all)

Wow nice glasses for 405nm light. Awesome. You got this for free? Lucky you! Congrats and welcome the LPF and the hobby! Alot of good folks around here I've fallen in love with the forums and lasers I started a few months ago wi th none now I have 8 and the 4 main wavelengths and also learned a ton even already built two of my own. They didn't last long I got some work to do lol but you will learn anything you want here. Goodluck!

Welcome! Looks like you got a good start. I had several lasers before I got a case to put them in...
Of course now I need another..

If you haven't already, look into safety glasses that block other wavelengths. Usually you will need at least two pair to cover all wavelengths.

mercsan, welcome. I wonder how well those glasses would work with a focused 405nm laser at 700mW? It is a lot different than a flashlight. Just wouldn't want you to become complacent about these glasses blocking laser light. PM me if I can be of any help to you. :)

Good point I think the laser I just got which h is 405 would burn those glasses lol

405nm! Awesome my favorite laser. Other then dpss greens I like dpss beams

Nice. Those should provide you some protection against UV, violet, blue and some green, as well as infrared, should you do anything with IR. Your eyes my thank you one day.

I've done a shit ton of research on lasers and know about safety. I just never had the time before with my old job to start having some fun.

Well, it's nice to see you going about it the right way. Definitely, have fun. We're all in this for that reason.
