i want to modify the power of the laser (it is the newer ones) but not pod mode.
would it work to remplace the diode to an moor powerfuller diode?(i know it is an dpss laser so i would like to put an 1w ir diode in the laser)
You can't just put a more powerful diode into a green and expect to get a more powerful laser.
Theoretically, it is possible, but you can not align it by hand. Even if you just took the diode out and put it right back in again, you would lose all your power. After spending a week carefully aligning it, if you were lucky, you would get an efficiency of 14%. If you were VERY lucky, that is. But usually, you would get half the power it originally had.
And doing this without IR & green protection glasses will damage your eyes! A 0.5W IR pump diode is very bad for you even uncolimated. I burnt a black floppy disk once with an uncollimated 0.5W IR pump from a distance! It started smoking immediately.
A 1W pump might get you twice the half of original power..

Or it might kill your crystals instantly.
These lasers are aligned in the factory, using highly sophisticated multi axis alignment tools, which can reposition the crystals in front of the diode, rotate them and so on, and do this one micrometer at a time. A tiny fraction of a milimeter is all i takes to lose all your power.
Fiddling with the crystals really isn't a good idea. Increasing the pump diode current would be a bit safer. But again, increasing the power of the IR could actually lower your output! Or it could make it peak higher and drop lower and faster.
In fact, just taking the module out of the body and putting it back in, can completelly change it's behavior. A small difference in contact between the module and the body can change the amount of heat dissipation. I thought more heatsinking was always good, but when i put my DX200 module into a massive aluminum body AND replaced the direct drive wanna-be driver with a real constant current one, i actually lost some power. After decreasing the heatsinking, some of the power was back again.
