hi team

i know there has been increased interest for improved mobile capabilities on LPF. a while back i investigated tapatalk but decided not to go with that since it had some really horrific security flaws in the past

i have purchased vbulletin mobile suite and im working on getting something set up to test that out.

there is nothing to test out yet but as soon as there is i will post back here. im going to need help testing it b/c i dont have a mobile device (otherwise i'd spend most of my time online lol, i can't have entire life consumed by technology lol)


i have actually had some feedback that the current site works well for some people with mobile already. however this should probably make it even easier and give people a 2nd option

i will keep u all posted on progress with this. there is nothing to test yet but once more details ill let u all know in this thread

the site works well on my dad's iPhone, but thanks to all the banners and ads it can take pretty long time to load. I think, all you need to make a mobile version of lpf is to remove all the animated banners and replace them with text ads

Speed is decent, ive got fast 3G. ;)


I woulnt like the script/add-on implemented because it will ask me EVERY time to use a 3rd party app, while i just try to keep a tracks of my buy/sales.

the problem is that the 3G is NOT always so fast. sometimes there's no 3G and you must use 2G and this is when a mobile version of page comes in hand
 
The site is very hard to navigate on a touch-screen smartphone, it always take me forever to load with the banners... I would love to see a mobile version with text ads

The normal site works fine on Android (Galaxy S) except for text entry. Once you get to text entry, it's horrible. The ads are pretty tough to deal with on phone too (especially the flash ads)

Though I know you iPhone folk don't need to worry about the flash ;p
 
wanted to let u all know i am still working to get this configured. technical issue w/ the software beyond my control im waiting for vbulletin to push a fix for it. once they get that fixed ill need to compile /publish the app /etc. ill keep u posted
 
Sweeeeet... LPF on the smartphone. :) Would it be an app ported for Droid and iPhone or just one of the two?

So it will be an app? Or you will just still use safari/whatever android uses to get ob?
