I tested my m140@2A enough to say that !
In my build i drive the diode @1,9A but only because i wanted longer duty cycles and with my heatsink i have an continuously duty cycle @1,9A!!!

And I'm not alone with this !

DTR also tested an M140 with 2,1A and no Problems

Like I said "If you keep your diode CHILLLED! 2A is definitely not a problem"

In case you noticed the obvious dimming after 1.85-1.95A and goes completely dim at 2.1A.. This may be true for some diodes , but one cannot have a continuous duty cycle..

Yes some diodes will dim over 1,8A and some will like the extra current! I said exactly that earlier ...
You can test your M140 easy with an LPM for her limits !
Anyway you need a good heatsink or very short duty cycles (~20s) @2A+

I call 30min a nearly continuous duty cycle wouldn't you ?

Yes I would call it a continuous dc.. I might try this next time i build a laser i do have a spare diode and a bench that will go upto 3A & by that time my lpm setup will be ready too..

Polished it Today.. I was very Impressed by how beautiful the copper gets
when polished.. But too bad, It will only last a couple of weeks or so!!

Love that host man! But I know I would play around with force oxidizing the copper, to give it a bit more character and rugged look. But different strokes for different folks.
 
I might go for electroplating , maybe nickel.. and these household patina methods looks pretty interesting too.. :thanks: for the link!!

If anything, try one thing, if you don't like it, brush it off, and hey something that fits you.
