"Can it pop a balloon?"Is your mean like this? But can it pop a balloon?
I almost had to put my sunnies on for those pics - that projector is seriously bright![]()
Very nice beamshots !
+1
Jim
Nice beam shots. It's probably a lot brighter in person.

usually one of us when we see a nice powerful laser system with make the statement "But will it pop a balloon", "But can it light a match", "Will it cut electrical tape".
There's normally no need for an answer, and is just a joke, or you can answer with a crazy answer like "yes it pops 20 balloons in a row instantly". Untill power meters were available such as Jerry's Laser Bee and Kenoms Kenometer, or the Radiant Alpha, people without a pro power meter guaged their lasers by how fast it would burst a balloon or light a match.
Personally I think a power meter ends up cheaper in the long run, and no bits of burst rubber or smouldering match to pick up!
Thats a similar setup to what I'm building - 1.5W of green, 1.5W 445 and 1W 637. I'm just too lazy to change my signature![]()
I figured the green would overpower the red. I havent ordered my lasers yet but have settled on these powers for price and space concerns. The red laser is not a K-Vant. I dont have that much money - its going to be a LaserWave..
Whats in yours?
ok - you asked me what brand laser i had in mine - I was wondering what was in yours![]()
Wow I hate you now - those K-Vants are nice lasers. (kidding about the hate you part!)
I am putting 1.5W CNI, 1W 637 LaserWave, and have yet to decide on the blue laser.
I will be buying the red laser first where as most people start with the green. - its $1500. I'll then get the green ($850) and finally the blue. I still need a pass red reflect blue/green dichro, some 3 axis mounts, some mirrors and an AR window from edmunds, a saftey board and ilda gem from stanwax in the uk, and a pangolin quickshow (that will come last as I already have a frame streamer I can play with). I'll get the quickshow from hakzaw1 on these forums.
as for my red being too strong, I'd rather have too much than not enough. You can always turn down a colour in software, but you cant turn them up (unless you fiddle with the pots, and I'm not doing that to a $1.5K laser.)
I already have DT40W's, 2 x 3 axis mounts, a pass green reflect blue dichro (that works with 445 nm), a projector case, a baseplate and some power supplies.
Just becasue my 637 is Kvant`s,so you hate me:yabbem::thinking:
Anyway, since you have made the good preparation for your own RGB,hope your everything go well!
