Hi,

I'm looking for my first safety glasses and while searching in laserbtb I found this: IL M-series 808nm 980nm
The description says: IR laser illuminator is special application of infrared laser, lower cost, small size, used together with IR cameras(double filters)for security cameras system in the night, indoor or short range.

In specs it metions that is 0.5W, which for a laser is not exactly low power.
I'm trying to create a lighting system for a surveillance and photography, I already made some flashlights using several leds with mixed results. My question is if someone know something about those and if they could be safe if someone look at them while they are on since they will be on a open area (pointing to the street).

The descriptions says for indoor, but the power make me doubt.

Thanks.

It should be okay, just don't put it
somewhere someone could put it right up to
their eye. I would keep it a few feet away
from anyone's face just to be safe.

Great, I'll order it next week, if result to bee too intense I can put it something to diffuse the light or bouncing it, like a flash.

Thanks

Okay, also if you are planning on putting
it outside, you might want to make sure it
is weatherproof. Otherwise it should be
mounted inside a sealed lamp box or
something.
