Wow that's a big mW number there for such a cheapy.
Did you measure w/ or w/o IR filter?
 
I was wondering the same thing, is that the real output or just its advertised power.... every cheapie I've bought has been just that.
 
Does it say 31mW I never saw any lasers over 5mW but the green one I got has to be well over 5 i can see the beam in my room with a small lamp on. Bright little unit
 
oh thats crazy I didnt know that but that would explain why mine definitely seems like more than 5 mW
 
How is the stability of this laser? I bought two of these at $5.29 about a month or two ago, took about a month to ship from China, then both of them had about the worst stability possible. Right now only one of them survives, and it only works 20% of the time, and after a long warm-up. I haven't had much experience with green lasers before so I don't quite know what to expect.
 
I think you were one of the few lucky ones, getting a highly overspec laser, because read the sellers feedback on ebay, he has quite a bit of negative feedback particularly on this item, and the few of them say that they got a defective unit, but still think it might be worth a try.
 
Dang, still 22mw with the IR filter... 1/3 of it is IR but that's surprising with a "5mw"... I got pretty much the exact same thing from ebay so I'd bet mine is the same. Explains why it's so bright.
