G'day,

In my quest for RGB 2D maglites, here is the third and final installment.

Running a blue PT-54 @ 9A with a Der Witchel 9A high efficiency buck driver and a DX aspheric lens, my own custom blue glow ring & 2x 32650 batteries.

Because of the blue's emitter Vf is more than double that of the Red emitter, it generates more heat than the Red emitter, so shorter duty cycles are encouraged.

Thanks for looking!

It's so bright that it kind of hurts your eyes if your not careful! (like a 445 laser)

It makes stuff glow in the same manner... (nice glow ring!)

Killer light!

But honestly, out of the 3 (9 amp builds), I personally like the red best. Simply for the reason that it generates much less heat at 2.2 volts to the emitter vs around 5 for the green and blue...

yeah, there is something about blue light, effects your vision the most after you look away.

its funny you say that, anything fluro glows like mad, like the green tennis balls that where lost in my garden, they glow like uranium!

Awesome idea using an aspheric lens to collimate it to more of a beam, looks great! I can't wait to make a couple of these, they look pretty sweet :D. I also agree, pics of the whole RGB set please! Did you use these lenses on all of them?

Please post some Pictures of your RGB Maglite Collection!
