Is it possible to replicate what we saw in Styropiro's latest video? That is, create rough, irregularly shaped, round rubies with a simple mix of aluminum powder and chromium powder in a certain percentage. These rubies turn red under a UV beam. Beautiful. Is it toxic to make them? What laser power is needed?

LOL Another moron level idiot attention whore troll thread and post.
Yeah right , even though 2+2=4 and Styro did it, 3D asks a moronic troll question he alrady has the answer to. Obviously if Styro did it anyone can do it + there are a lot of was to make ruby from Al oxide powder and chromium oxde powder. LOL
Proving for the 100th time that 3D aka Shadow laser's delusional and lacks any connection to reality and lives in a daydream of his own design. Also proves 3D aka Shadow Laser has the mentality, emotional maturity , and impulse control of a 5 year old on a good day.
Goes without saying you are an incompetent penniless moron Italy and are never going to replicate or do anything other than make another troll post and make another 🍕💩

PS You demented clueless moron:

Styropiro DIDN'T succeed? So he's selling them on his website? Or is he not the one selling them and did I make a mistake with Melania Trump's crazy midnight cravings website? What the fuck are these? Are they rubies or not?
You idiot who always sticks his nose in my posts.

PS. Before you reply, do some research... (n)

3D/Shadow Laser you total clueless moron you couldn't even comprehend that saying Styro didn't do it was simply sarcasm a sarcastic remark that clearly meant the opposite of what was said. Was Pure sarcasmo, sarcastico. I have edited the post so even your pathetic demented moronic troll self can comprehand what was being said.

Every post you make proves you have nothing to say or do and nobody o say or do it with + that you are an insignificant, angry and alone attention whore troll in Italy among Italians, on LPF, and everywhere the internet in general + have the mentality, emotional maturity and impulse control of a 4 to 6 yea old demanding attention. You are a little baby that wants a that new rattle every few minutes.

Ron White's observation. "You Can't Fix Stupid"/"Non puoi rimed stupid"which applies 100% to 3D aka Shadow Laser and all of his pretend playtime fake personas and psychotic level attention whore brainless and clueless uneducated moron troll posts. It is worth posting the Ron White clip again.

Yep, and that was his latest. He was using a handheld 200 watt laser to do this. It makes me wonder what he could make if he focused his 2,000 watt welder/rust remover laser in one spot. I'm not into chemistry, but if 200 watts can make rubies, then something 10x as powerful could probably make something as well. I know he used it to burn things at long distances, but what kind of chemical reactions could he get from materials up close???
He could probably initiate nuclear fusion if he wanted to. It wouldn't surprise me if he succeeded in doing that and made a video about it. The guy's a true genious!

So he's selling his "rubies" on his website, sarcastically? Or are they irregular round grains painted phosphorescent pink? Is this pure sarcasm too?
, every now and then you read one of my posts and you have an existential crisis and you always write the same thing... poor old and stupid idiot, mine was just a fucking question, I wonder, who knows, if they were taken to be analyzed by a competent person in the sector, what would he say...

Styropiro is a crazy scientist in the best sense of the word. He can do things that leave you speechless. Maybe his next video will be about making diamonds and gold, or he'll link to his jewelry store

Great Styro! (y)

Ha! I wouldn't doubt it.
And those rubies he makes are real. He showed how he did it in his record-setting 200 watt handheld laser, and mentioned that he would be selling them on his site. Good idea!
Now if he starts building and selling 200 watt lasers--bad idea! (not that they wouldn't sell :sneaky:)

I was one of the first to make rubies using a laser.

These rubies form too rapidly to be truly useful. But they are a cool science experiment.

Let's hope so :-) Anyway, even though the rubies are irregularly round in shape, even if, as Curtis says, it's a cool experiment, what's their value? Styro sells them on its website for €35 each; I get the price in euros!
In the right hands, can they be worked and transformed into jewelry?

Did you then put them up for sale as well? Or did you keep them as a personal collection? Did you have anyone appraise them?

They are effectively worthless for lab rubies. They hold value only based on their experimental production and if you happen to be a famous individual.

If you make a couple good enough. You could try to facet. But they won’t be facet grade.

I don't have a laser power of 200W... the maximum I can get is the union of multiple laser modules powered by 12V - 220V in the electrical socket, then I don't understand what Styro mixes in that white cup, aluminum powder or what? I can't translate well, do you also use powdered chromium? Can you write me in Italian the exact names of the two powders to mix with each other? Do they have to be the size of a peanut?

I'm not Italian so no. Aluminium oxide and chromium oxide. Corundum (Sapphire/Ruby) is crystalline aluminium oxide with impurities. Rubies have Chromium oxide impurities which turn them from white into pinkish red. So you mix in a small quantity of chromium oxide into the aluminium oxide powder till it goes a weak green colour.
