Hi,

I tried to build a laser today. Nothing really special.
I put everything in: Driver, Diode into Module, Module into Heatsink, put Batteries in and turned in on: Nothing happened.

So I was sure that the Diode was broken. As angry as I was I hammere'd out the Diode with a screwdriver and yea.. it was complelty broken.

After a hour I wanted to try what happens if I turn the diode back on - it was not in module/heatsink anymore. What do you think happened?

Hmm?

WRONG! It lighted up. Like as before, the glass in the diode was broken.

Wtf? What the fuck? Holy shit?

You dont have to believe me.. but? What? Why? I dont understand... HOW?

I mean.. the diode was hammered out of the module and is still alive?

What have I done?

Any suggestions? oO

You probably soldered a connection wrong or put the batteries in the wrong way. Not sure why you would hammer the diode out off the module instead of just taking the module out. You broke the glass, bot the actual functioning electrical parts of the diode, hence it still working.

Anyway, it's mad. The glass is nevertheless in the diode. But it works and I like it. I looove it.

Look what I have done:

I think I will replace the diode anyway until its really dead.

Re: "inexplicable world" What the fuck?

maybe bad Karma from your 'potty mouth'-- do you see lots of others doing that??

you already have us scratching our heads-now this..
btw when are you going to complete your profile?? expect to get ignored if not.

time for a thread jacking.

Ha. Welcome to the magical world of laser diodes. Read up and good luck

Re: "inexplicable world" What the fuck?

This reminds me of non-stop swearing and banging my head when i popped my first a140 diode.

Oh, the horror...

its a bit small
upload better one? would be cool \o/

Re: "inexplicable world" What the fuck?

Wouldn't have worked if you drilled it:horse: Sorry, running gag..... couldn't resist. Now back to our regularly scheduled program

impossible when its so small :D

Re: "inexplicable world" What the fuck?

its a big ole pile of dead diodes-- 'try cntl +'

Re: "inexplicable world" What the fuck?

it has a resoultion of 100x90 pixels.. not sure whats happening dude :0

MMMKAY

why?

its dead diodes==
if you want the link where I got the pic I can give it BUT whats the point??

its a bunch of dead diodes-why do you need better resolution??

FYI those were all killed intentionally by Bill Benner at Pangolin during testing of Laseorbs.

Re: "inexplicable world" What the fuck?

can you snap of pic of the raw diode output (without a lens)
