Hey everyone I'm PapBear, and I'm a university student looking into buying a laser. I've done some research, and I'm still not done yet, but from posts from Reddit and other sites, this is the place to be for anything lasers. I had a dinky red pointer I bought a few years ago from Tmart, but I lost that, and now I want something I can use for years to come, in everything from home experiments to lighting the grill for BBQing.

I'm making sure to read the stickies and threads, but I just wanted to say hey yall and I'm glad to join the community.:wave:

Welcome to the forum. Do some research on what you really want - ie. wavelength, power range, host style, etc. and once you have that lined out, I highly recommend you do business with one of the forum members that makes lasers for sale. The craftsmanship you'll find here is amazing and there are just some good people doing good work here on LPF.

Be safe and have fun!

Thanks man I appreciate it! I've been reading through these reviews and threads and I'm really starting to lean towards a forum member make. I'll probably take a few more days and iron out details for myself before I approach anyone. Plus it looks that with a forum member, customs issues are nonexistent.

Safety for sure!

COMMANDR:

Yeah it's pretty cool just how many people are excited about lasers and also how much knowledge I've gleaned after some hours being here. I will and I will.
