Help, my 50mW green laser keeps dimming

Ive had this laser now for about a year and a half and ever since ive had it, it always dims after about 2 seconds after turning it on even after changing the batteries (i am only using 1.5V batteries?) what can i do to make it work properly?

The diode is probably dying or it has a lousy driver. Where do you live? Temperature also affects green lasers.

My 35mW "5mW" 532nm ebay pen does the same thing. It actually jumps modes from TEM01 and then back to TEM00. That could be whats probably happening. You said its happened from day one?

It's probably mode hopping.
