Since some of you have seen from my sig at one time, i've been a lurker here for a while. Because of that, it never occured to me to make a new user thread, because i'd already been here(kinda) for a while. So, here it is!

I, like twhite828, saw the mini maglite DVD laser burner and made one. A couple weeks later, one of the leads for the diode fell off and i lost faith in lasers. After a couple of years of on and off lurking, i finally decided that doing a real laser would be worth it, so here i am!

Building your own laser is the best.
Show someone the laser, and what it can do, and have them Ohh and Ahh. The next question is," where did you get it"?

Yeah, i had build one of the lame maglite lasers that kipkay made tutorials about, but now, i'm building a real laser: a dorcy blu-ray.

Although, people did ask about the maglite, and yes, it is awesome to have people ask and be able to say you that you built it.
