Good Free Video Editor?

Does anybody know of a good video editor that is free? I really need something better than movie maker for my Youtube videos, but I don't have a clue what I should try. Also, it would be nice if it could work with .MOV files. Thanks in advance, +rep for any help!

Sony Vegas Pro 8.0 I use it for all my videos now and its great and has options to make your non-HD videos to HD mode.

You can find anything for free online .....I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3..it's THE BEST!!

i use Adobe After Effect CS3 for everything.. but this software package is pretty complicated i would suggest vegas 8 or simular... if you want a free version of After Effects CS3 pm me and ill help you out..

I've used v 3 which was great but lost it when I reformatted. I couldn't find a torrent for v3 now though for some reason....

and movie maker is pretty decent, it has lots of the basic effects if you explore all the options in it.
