As many of you may know, I am a cancer survivor so raising money for cancer research is a huge soft spot of mine. I figured I’d combine two things into one; raising money for cancer research and a giveaway, win win for everyone! No, this is not a “free” giveaway since you do need to donate money to the cancer research ride I am taking part in (details below) but none of the money is going to me. 100% of the money raised is going to cancer research and I mean 100%. Everyone who works for the Dolphins Cancer Challenge is under the Miami Dolphins payroll so everything raised goes 100% to cancer research and not paying some executive’s salary!

PLEASE READ THE RULES BELOW IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THE GIVEAWAY. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN BEING EXCLUDED FROM THIS​

Short backstory​

I am coming up on 2 years cancer free, I was diagnosed with melanoma when I was 22. Since being done with treatment I have become heavily involved in cancer charity events and this will be my hardest but the most fun. I will be traveling down to Miami to complete the Dolphins Cancer Challenge with you guessed it, the Miami Dolphins. I will be part of Team Buccaneers since my good friend works for them. I am not seeking money to get down to FL, I am only seeking your help to raise as much money for cancer research as possible. I’m not just asking for help with no prize though, that’s where the giveaway comes in

PRIZES​
  1. Grand Prize – Custom Titanium with Oil Slick finish 80mW 520nm Laser with AW 17500 batteries
  2. MODDED Crelant 7G2CS dedomed XM-L2 and current bump (ramping mode still works)
  3. Brand new BLF SE-X6 CW – comes in BLF special box with all the accessories
  4. 4x NEW Panasonic 3400mAh NCR18650B
  5. 4’ Custom paracord bullwhip. Body is 4’ and totals ~6’ with fall and cracker. Will come with spare fall and crackers
  6. PBS cube and optics – various mounted optics and PBS cube (mostly for the laser fans)
  7. 6x Sanyo 18650 batteries (2400mAh I believe) with cases & bonus 16340IMR 700 mAh battery
  8. 4× 26650 batteries (matching Trustfire Flames, 1x King Kong, 1x MNKE)
  9. 5x L3 L10 bodies (2x Black & 1x white complete with head, 1x pink & orange both missing heads) (**You wuill get at least 4 bodies. I know I have another complete 1x black & 1x white and just orange body somewhere. When I locate them I will add them to this prize)
I have a few more items I may add depending on the interest of this giveaway (if we reach $1000 raised I will add my ArmyTek Barracuda as prize #2). Prizes will be added as more interest is gained

RULES​

Anyone can join but you must follow the rules outlined. You must go to My Dolphins Cancer Challenge Fundraising Page OR My GoFundMe Fundraiser Page and donate a minimum of $10 to be eligible to win a prize (each prize is worth more than $10 and I am shipping everything FREE CONUS – international see below, you are not excluded!). FOR EVERY $10 you donate, you will receive one entry (Example: Donate $50 and you will have 5 chances of winning a prize). After you donate, please comment below and then send me a PM with your email address and number of entries you have. If you donated more than $10, please indicate if you want your entry numbers to be consecutive or randomly placed on the participants list. I will be verifying that everyone who claims they donated really does. The list of entries will be in post 2. If you do not send me a PM you will not be added to the list since I have friends, family, co-workers and random people donating to help me out (it’d be impossible to know who everyone is and match up names/emails with usernames).
BTW anyone in the USA, your donation is tax deductible Big smile (I feel obligated to tell you since I went to school for accounting) My goal is to raise $2,500 total before the ride so however much we can raise through this will be GREATLY appreciated!

International users AKA outside of the USA​

You all are welcome to join however I do ask that you pitch in half (up to $10) of the shipping cost. I will get a quote for you and let you know so we can split it. I don’t believe anything will cost you more than $20 to ship and if half does come to more than $10, I will only ask you to pay the $10 and I’ll cover the rest.

Drawing​

I will draw the winners on December 11th 6:30pm EST (donations must be in by 6:00pm EST) so that everyone will receive their prizes by Christmas!!!! I will draw in order of the prizes listed (grand prize down so that everyone has a chance at winning the grand prize). Once you win a prize, that winning number will be removed from eligibility (if you have more than one number then your other numbers are still eligible). I will send all the winners a PM to get your address and for international winners to arrange shipping details.

You are welcome to donate and not want a prize. If you do donate and don’t want to win a prize, thank you so much and please comment below so I can give you a shout out and know who you are!

I have not been around a lot as my mother was just diagnosed with cancer about a month ago.
She started a very aggressive constant 6 weeks infusion of chemo (she wears a pump 24 hours a day) along with radiation treatments.

It's not going to be curable. She has colon cancer that has spread to her lymph and liver. The treatments are just meant to buy us some time. So I've been getting off work, filling orders from the website and then spending the rest of my time with my mother.

I never thought I'd have to deal with my mother's death at the age of 30, or her being only 53.

She is in the hospital now because she had sudden altered mental status. So I drive an hour and half to Kansas city to see her on any of the days I have off. Loading her into my step dad's truck and her not knowing who I was nearly broke me. So now that she is coherent again, I'm trying to get in as much time as I can while she is still alive.


Fuck cancer.

Thanks Matt, appreciate the support. Sorry to hear about your mother :( This is what I don't want people to deal with. I know the treatment she is going through. I did a year of chemo and it wrecks a person. My prayers are with you and your family buddy. I know it may be hard but try to keep a positive attitude and choose joy. I know I did and it really helps out a lot!

Thanks, its a big relief as each day passes and I am still healthy. Trying to make it to 5 years and then my chances of it coming back greatly drop

No worries if you cant, no one should feel obligated to donate. Only do it if you can and you want to :beer:
 
I was wondering what you cancer status was that's awesome that your going on 2 years.

Those after surgery pics you posted back in 2014 Made me cringe.
 
Just awesome to all you survivors:):):) I lost my mom when I was 10 to Melanoma she was 45. Mohreberg no one should go what your going through at that age. Il say it im 53 and this thread brought tears to my eyes no shame. Count me in on a donation

My deepest of sympathies to you and your family. That has to be my biggest fear of hurting one of my family members by not knowing who they are. I will pray for you and your family. Take this time to ensure you ask any questions you may have. I would recommend, if she is able to bounce back to any level of activity, maybe take a trip somewhere. If that isn't an option I would suggest to make something together that you can hold on to. I couldn't imagine what you are having to go through. I'm 33 and It would break me to lose my mother.

In 24 hours I have raised $385! Thank you all who have donated so far, we are well on our way to kicking cancer to the curb!

I just tried to give and I believe there was an error. I need to see if it went through or not before trying again if needed. You could also let me know if you got it.

I can not log into my fundraising dashboard page. It looks like they are having some trouble with their website so I will keep you posted as to when it is back up and I can log in. I don't believe your payments were processed because I did not receive an email from them about a donation but I can check when I am able to log in. I know I was at $385 raised last night.

I have two more whips lol they are fun and loud AF! My neighbor came over in the spring and was like I thought you were shooting a gun back here......nope just my 10' bullwhip

Its really bugging me that they haven't got their website back up yet. Come on, we are trying to raise money for cancer research here people!
