Received it today. Everything works fine. Actually, the host is very nice. Nicer build than I had anticipated. The boxes were okay. I didn't buy the laser for the boxes though. All, in all I was very satisfied. Being a NEWB, I was very apprehensive about buying from another NEWB. But, I took a chance. I even offered Jake, his choice of a pesonal check or paypal. He, opted for paypal. And, remember GUYS...NEVER send paypal as a "GIFT" payment to something you're purchasing. And lastly, use your GUT and INTUITIONS! Enough already, I'm gonna go have some fun...OH, AND DEFINITELY DON'T FORGET THE SAFETY GLASSES. THANKS EVERYONE!

I tried it on high power to burn some paper without the glasses, and this was just for 5 seconds. There was a tiny yellow dot in my vision and when i closed my eyes it became green. Luckily, it went away in 20 minutes. To be honest, I got scared. FOR EVERYONE NEW TO THIS...SAFETY GLASSES/GOGGLES IS A MUST. NO EXCEPTIONS.

It depends on the surface your burning and how reflective it is. The splash/scatter from a 250mW laser
can give you welding type burns if you try to burn something up close without protective glasses.
And when I say close, I mean arms lenghth.
Sounds like you we're spared by the laser gods.....
There are exceptions, some people are less sensitive to certain wavelengths.
Pay no attention to these freaks. They aren't you.

with a laser as powerfull as this even black object will reflect the light super bright like a mirror (not really like a mirror you get what i mean?)
