Deal extreme green laser help

Hi guys. i recently ordered a greed laser form deal extreme
SD-302 5mW 532nm Green Laser Pointer - Black (1 x 18650) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

I was just wondering would it be safe to pot mod this. because i kind of figured it would be overspec because of the new laws. will it come overspec with the pot turned down so it puts out 5mw, or will it just come how it was made.

Im new to lasers, ive already ordered 2 lasers.

it'l be over 5mW if you pot mod it, it won't last that long

Probably it isn't 5mW. Maybe DX is rating these so low so they are allowed to sell it...

It can be really anything from 1mW to 200mW. Good, id you are into gambling.
If you want some specific lasers, go for specialized laser shop with good references.

I ordered the brother of that, the "SD 301" , this lasers are fake 5mW, in the stick say"< 5mW", but they have 50 mW or more, they can burn matches and pop balloons easy! You just need to use the focus correctly and it can burn!

As Mpmegas has said, they are usually overpowered, so YOU MUST HAVE GOGGLES FOR GREEN LASERS BEFORE TRYING IT OUT!!!!! YOu only have two eyes!

Yeah, they can make you a "blinded man" very fast! You need to be carefull! Buy glasses, i bought two cheap glasses in ebay(from a chinese:thinking, just $8, i think that they are not so good, but is an additional protection, best than naked eyes!
