I'm posting this over here for the members that aren't over at CPF. TnC products is doing a pre-order for a copper version of thier 26650 host. They need payments or "will-buy" from three people. The price is $498. That includes the host with either a v1 or v3 head. The host uses a P60/D26 lamp assembly. There is an option for tritium slots and/or battery tube extension for 2x26650. One other option is to be able to use 18340 batteries. The OD is the same as the 26650 body. The ID is smaller to accept 18340s though.

Copper 26650 Light Housing!

It is a sweet host but damn that is a lot of money.

 it must work great as a heatsink but it's quite expensive...

Let's say it takes 1 foot of 1.75" copper bar. That is $100 to $130 by itself. That price goes down with longer pieces though. The machining also looks like it is quite intensive. Copper isn't easy to machine either from what I've heard. There is another website that quoted me about the same price for their version.

The titanium versions at both places are about the same price as copper.

One more buyer is needed and production should be started. They've had my money for a couple weeks and there is one person interested in buying one.

They have been made.

Those are impressive. I bet they feel fantastic in hand. How do you keep them from oxidizing?

This is ridiculously overpriced, despite how much I like it.

I did the math - 1.75" x 1ft copper costs around $60 in raw materials. Hell, I would learn how to make those on the lathe (I have access) to be able to sell them for $430 profit... it's just ridiculous.

I think I may actually be able to get a sterling silver host made for cheaper =p

Hopefully I'll have mine in a couple weeks. It looks like they are well balanced nad have a solid feel to them. Aluminum is nice because it is less weight you have to carry. I like how the extra weight feel though.

Some have coated their copper lights with something. Others polish like crazy. Then there are those that let them tarnish. I might just let mine tarnish to give it that "old" look.

These look amazing. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

If you can produce one of these for $120... I'm in:p

I wish they would make something like this. Much better looking for the laser than the flashlight host.
