I just bought the following:
1 x >50mW LedShoppe green pointer (http://ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP1076.htm)
1 x >10mW ledshoppe "laser-show" gadget (http://ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP3033.htm)
1 x >200mW focusable from oLike
(200mW Transformable focusable green laser£>5~200mw green laser pointer£>Laser&lighting products£>www.0-like.com)
Here are some info.
When I first got the >10mW lasershow gadget from LEdShoppe I was amazed bow bright it was. I then opened it up (bvery easy with screws) and tuned the pot all the way to the max. It made it quite bright. I could EASILY see the dot 3000 meters away!
Then I got the ledshoppe >50mW pointer. Quite disappointing as I thought it would be MUCH brighter than the pot-modded lasershow gadget. Not too much of a difference between these two. Still the price difference is a lot. The lasergadget was about $12 and the 50mW was about $24 or so.
Then I got the 200mW unit from oLike. I ordered the focusable, as I thought it would let me focus so I could move the focus farther away in order to pop balloons from a distance, but noooo..this "focus" just gave me the option to got FROM a small dot, so a large dot and not in negative direction (if that makes sense). So spending money on this laser JUST because it has focus, is worthless. The laser itself, however, was kinda cool.
So, I made a test with all three and the one from oLike seems very weak with the 3,7V battery installed. I cannot see the beam unless I am in a dark room. That was very disappointing. There is not much difference in beam brightness from my 50mW ledshoppe laser compared to this 200mW laser. from oLike.
My pot-modded ledshoppe laser gadget can burn thru plastic from a distance of 50cm easily. I have not yet tried to light matches with either of them yet.
I am wondering if I should buy a meter to mesure the power of my lasers. Does anyone have a tip on which to buy, where to buy it and how much I should pay for one ?
So, here is my question: Are you supposed to see the beam from a 200mW green laser during daylight or not ?
BTW: My 50mW ledshoppe laser died on me, and they are sending one to me to compensate for the bad one. That is GREAT customer support. Fanastic!!
Also: oLike has GREAT customer support. Shipping went PERFECT. No problems with customs. Thumbs up for oLike and LedShoppe !!!!!!!
