I just bought the following:

1 x >50mW LedShoppe green pointer (http://ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP1076.htm)

1 x >10mW ledshoppe "laser-show" gadget (http://ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP3033.htm)

1 x >200mW focusable from oLike
(200mW Transformable focusable green laser£>5~200mw green laser pointer£>Laser&lighting products£>www.0-like.com)

Here are some info.

When I first got the >10mW lasershow gadget from LEdShoppe I was amazed bow bright it was. I then opened it up (bvery easy with screws) and tuned the pot all the way to the max. It made it quite bright. I could EASILY see the dot 3000 meters away!

Then I got the ledshoppe >50mW pointer. Quite disappointing as I thought it would be MUCH brighter than the pot-modded lasershow gadget. Not too much of a difference between these two. Still the price difference is a lot. The lasergadget was about $12 and the 50mW was about $24 or so.

Then I got the 200mW unit from oLike. I ordered the focusable, as I thought it would let me focus so I could move the focus farther away in order to pop balloons from a distance, but noooo..this "focus" just gave me the option to got FROM a small dot, so a large dot and not in negative direction (if that makes sense). So spending money on this laser JUST because it has focus, is worthless. The laser itself, however, was kinda cool.

So, I made a test with all three and the one from oLike seems very weak with the 3,7V battery installed. I cannot see the beam unless I am in a dark room. That was very disappointing. There is not much difference in beam brightness from my 50mW ledshoppe laser compared to this 200mW laser. from oLike.

My pot-modded ledshoppe laser gadget can burn thru plastic from a distance of 50cm easily. I have not yet tried to light matches with either of them yet.

I am wondering if I should buy a meter to mesure the power of my lasers. Does anyone have a tip on which to buy, where to buy it and how much I should pay for one ?

So, here is my question: Are you supposed to see the beam from a 200mW green laser during daylight or not ?

BTW: My 50mW ledshoppe laser died on me, and they are sending one to me to compensate for the bad one. That is GREAT customer support. Fanastic!!

Also: oLike has GREAT customer support. Shipping went PERFECT. No problems with customs. Thumbs up for oLike and LedShoppe !!!!!!! :p

PS! The inside of te $12 lasershow from ledshoppe, and the $24 50mW laserpointer from ledshoppe is similar inside. If you open them, you wil that they are 100% a like.

So, just buy the super-cheap $12 ledshoppe lasershow gadget, trim the pot and you have a damn bright and cool laser for just half the price.

AND: remember of course to take out that silly pastic splitting-filter in fr
ont of the laser, so that you get ONE beam instead of a matrix of 10x10 pixels :-)

so the battery is importent too? i ordered the 200 o-like, so i must expect that it will only show its wohle power with special batteries? is the standard o-like battery accessory not good?

Hi. The batts perform similar afaik. They are both 3,7 if I recall correctly, but the smaller one has not quite the same amps. So the larger one will have a longer lifetime before you have to recharge. Still, I have tested with the small batt now for a while and it is very good. Only cool thing with the small batt, is that your torch is about1,5 inch shorted, so it fits better in the pocket :)

PS! With fully charged large battery, and fully charged small battery: I see not differnce. They both burn like hell on my skin :-)

I held the laser to my hand for some secons and trying to see how long I could take it. Hehe...i got blisters and shit. Recommended :-)))

How do you get the 5omw from led shop to open up? i want to extract it for my fusion build. thanks

bad.. bad.. the focus sistem in the olike laser :( not negativeFocus... NO PARTY

are the standard batteries which come with the 200mw o-like rechargeable? from where can i get cheap batteries with brilliant achievement for it? are the DX batteries good ones?

@espskog, One of the ?'s you asked at the end of you 1st post, was about an LPM.
IMHO, the best bang for your buck comes from the LASERBEE I LPM. You can also get the DELUXE model, which is in an enclosure & can be hooked up to your PC so you can graph your lasers out-put over a certain time period, & even print the graph out if you have a printer hooked up to your PC. Also, the LASERBEE I uses a THERMOPILE SENSOR which is more accurate than LPM's that use photodiodes as a sensor. I have one myself & it is dead-on accurate............ rob
