I'm thinking about buying the x-125 compact nova with carrying case  :). I haven't bought from nova before, so I have no experience what so ever. I have read many threads about nova and I think it is a good company (although some mistakes have bin made  :-/). Anyone else that have the x-125? I would appreciate a second opinion and/or advive because this is a big purchase for me.

Thank you all in advance  ;)

I didn't have an X-125, but I had the next thing closest, an X-105. I suggest buying it as soon as you can, because the wait will KILL YOU. With free shipping I got my laser in about 5 days, I live in Illinois. You will be in awe with the brightness of the beam, even in lit rooms. But make sure you have a few pairs of rechargeables ready, because it will go through a pair of rechargeables in ~10 minutes. If you use alkalines it will go through them in 5 minutes.

free shipping?
or is it that orders above 200 dls are free shipped
They give you free Air Mail shipping for orders over $200, but you can upgrade to a faster shipping service for like $20 more if you want.

I bought from Nova recently, very nice company to deal with. My X75 was shipped to New York and took seven days with the free standard shipping. They didn't have the sport edition safety glasses that I wanted, but notified me and gave me the option to change the order to professional style for no extra charge (don't forget safety glasses if you don't already have them). Come to think of it, it took me a day to respond to the notification email about the glasses so it would probably have been faster.

I'd buy from them again (once I'm ready to spend another couple of hundred dollars on another laser (probably sooner rather than later ;D ) ) Also don't forget the warp5 discount code for them. Enjoy your laser

That sounds great!
Do i need to be a member to use the code? How does that work?

Nope you can use that code anytime. Its a sweet deal and nova calls it the laser pointer forum discount so someone from here must have talked to nova to get this deal. My x125 is out for repairs, but before it dropped in power it was very powerful. BTW it won't eat batteries that fast. I suspect about an hour of runtime before recharging.

Time for a little story ;D My little sister got a hold of it, and she jammed in the button so it was stuck on. Fearing that it could be busted, she ran and got my mom to try to fix it. While it was still lasing, my mom thought of removing the battery cap to turn it off. That was a good idea, but too bad she unscrewed the wrong end. Somehow when she did that it screwed up the crystals and now it emits a blob of green. Basically, it was a $225 slap in the face for not keeping my laser locked up in a box.

Really sorry to hear that, :( a good thing she didn't look into it while it was on though

I just received my x-125 today :) Love it so far. It's hard to use inside because it's so bright. Looks great though. Took only 3 days to ship to NY.

I'm jealous. I ordered an X-125 Sunday night, had to be around the same time you did, I also live in NY and I'm still waiting. I glad to see your happy with it though.

Does anybody know if nova tests their lasers enough to get through the burn in process? like if you were to buy a x100 that averaged 115mW how far would it drop after the burn in is complete?
