I'm curious how it works with a 9v battery?

I was told that they didn't work well.

You're lucky. Member02 and I tried to sell the exact same thing on ebay, and it was removed last night for being a "hazardous item." What a ridiculous crock.

i just sold one today i had that problem in the beginning but if you word your listing properly it will get through.

good luck with yours

Thanks,
Mitch

That's a red that won't work too well from a PP3 not a BluRay. The Red won't work long because it's pulling so much more current that the battery voltage will sag in no time. But for a BluRay many seem to think it's just about perfect.

Yea, one I found about 7.9 volts was the bare minimum it would work. So I guess 9 is okay. Just depends on your circuit too. But I think blu-ray pointer sales aren't what they were just two months ago. Not many people buyin'm anymore at crazy prices. I can't believe some of the people who got had @ $405 a while back, sucks to be them. And such a crap product at that, like it was thrown together with duct-tape or something, or spare parts from other electronics. I guess some people will do anything for a quick buck. ;)

Mine can still be removed too. I've heard sometimes they've waiting until it was almost done before killin it. That would suck, like 2 hours remaining. >:(

just don't include anything about it being capable of producing over 5mW and you will be fine. also state that the actual out put of the laser is less than 5mW and that it is completly legal. this worked for me i have already sold 2

thanks,
Mitch

yah, anything under 5mw is fine to sell since it cant cause eye damadge, im sure if you just lowered the ma going to a blu ray you could prob easly keep it in that range, and it would last longer with longer duty cycle if it had one at all before.

...lazer.. ;D ;D ;D

visibility wise, how do these compare to 5mw 635 reds? I'm a fan of the pointers and I can't seem to figure out the visibility on these darn things!

It will be alot more visible then a 635nm red of the same power, its almost close to how visible a green one is.

...lazer... ;D ;D ;D

Actually, if you shine it on cool, clean teflon, you will see it's only about as bright as a 650nm <5mw red. Thing is, pretty much every substance fluoresces at the short wavelength of 405nm, to a degree. Skin, paper, wood, even dust in the air. It LOOKS much brighter because you see the fluorescence it causes.
